Good Morning. I am setting up a new tank and the tank is currently cycling. I am looking for a good heater. Right now I have a Visi-Therm Deluxe 300W Heater and it is not maintaining a constant temp. First I tried to put the heater in the sump and the temp dropped to 72. Put it up in the tank and it now goes between 77 and 81. I am looking for a good heater that I can put in the sump and maintain a constant temp in the tank. Or at least vary less than 4 degrees during the day.

Thanks
Brad

I have been using the Via Aqua Titanium for 3 years now with no complaints. It maintains within 2 degrees and is very accurate with its seperate controller and sensors.

I use Jager heaters and they work great, no problems yet.

Thanks for the suggestions. Does anyone put the heater in their sump?

Thanks

I have two on my 55, one in the sump, on in the display. No real reasons for doing so, it's just happened that way.

I have mine in the sump, looks much better there. There is also good water flow in the sump.

Also look at if you want a submersible or one you can't put all the way under. The old Ebo Jagers were totally submersable, but the new ones only go halfway up the plastic cap not over the wire. It is something else to consider for where in the tank it is going.

Go with a titanium instead of a glass one, you won't regret it.
