Donor: Green Star Polyps.
I will have 5 green star polyp colonies.
Each will be small, but will grow under VHO or MH lights. Each is free to a member of the club providing that..... They provide the correct environment for it to grow. They are at the next meeting to receive a colony They describe how it grows for them under their conditions, and what those conditions are. They promise that once they are twice the size they are now, they will donate a colony the approximate size of the original donor colony. If you wish to be a sponsor....reply to this list. The first five will get a colony. The next people on the list will receive frags from the sponsors when the colony has doubled. Paul. |
Great Idea.
I love my Green stars I got from RamManOK. I keep mine under VHO and in about 1 month they have just about doubled. I will see if anyone wants some of my Xenia that is going NUTS!! Keep up the good work Thanks, Steve |
Thank you Paul and please reserve me a colony.
|
If Eclipse lighting and low water flow are the correct environ, I would love a colony - providing someone will help me frag it once it doubles in size.
Also, I have something in my reef tank I would like to frag, but I don't know what it is or how to do it. It is the large, encapsulating, pink stuff on the right side of my tank if any of you remember it. When closed, it is just a pink soft layer over the rock, but when open looks somewhat like xenia. Any ideas, and any offer to help me frag it? |
April, they should do fine.
Lets try them in your tank and see how they do. So far....... The following are sponsors of the green stars... Victor April I will have at least two more frags for the meeting. Paul. |

The real trick with GSPs is to how to keep them from growing once you put them in your tank... |
I got a frag from Paul last week. They are doing great so far.

Anyone else want to be a sponsor for the green stars besides Victor and April ?
Let me know before saturday. Paul. |
I am wondering if they are different than mine.
I have seen a listing for Green star polyps and Metalic green star polyps. Are these the same and if not which do you have? For that matter which do I have???? Could you by chance tell me how to ID them if they are different? Thanks for your time. Steve |
i will bring you some...........thats the easiest
Paul |
I have a frag in my tank as well. So if you attend the meeting you can see them.
Doug |
Sounds good.
I can always use some more in my tank. Thanks, Steve |
Ok.
Green stars for Victor April and Poke!. See you guys later. Paul. |
let me know how the stars are doing
|
SuperGlued them down and they seem to be very happy.
I am waiting to see if they get as green as the other green stars I have. The hands on the stars I got from you seem longer, thinner and not as much green. Do you think this could be because of the VHO vs Halide and different flow and diet? I guess we'll see in a month or so. Thanks again for the frag!! Steve |
I rubberbanded them to a rock which I then leaned up against the back glass of the seahorse tank. I think it will look great to have a backdrop of something live back there. I hate to scrub algae off it all the time. They seem to be doing well, and the polyps have even begun to come back out.

I would like some if you have any left.
|
Paul,
Mine are doing great. They have attached the the rock in several places. Doug |
Hi Guys,
The first sponsors of the GSPs were Victor, April and Steve. How are they doing? Do we have frags available? Anyone else want to sign up for these? P. |
My original frag was approx 4" long. Over the past 2+ months, I have only been able to get about 2 centimeters of it to attach to a rock. The rest of it refuses all attempts to either be glued, or attach itself. The part which is attached is doing OK, the rest doesn't seem to be too happy. I have it in the seahorse tank with 4-15 watt bulbs, and low water flow. It is about halfway down a 55 gal tank, and the params are in good shape. If anyone wants some, it will be far too easy to clip it with a pair of scissors. It apparently doesn't like these conditions. I have not tried it in my reef tank.

April,
I suspect the light is too low for it. P. |
I would like to try some.
Pamela |
I will bring you a frag of GSPs.
Paul. |
Thanks Paul, :D
