Those are so cool. Where did you get them and what do they eat? I've seen them on Live Aquaria.

I got my m/f pair from my LFS. Unfortunately the girl died about 8 months ago and I havent got around to buying another female. There's other pipes for sale at my LFS too (along with many more dragonfaced pipes) and some are even carrying eggs :).

He's a very picky eater. I still havent been able to get him onto anything but live baby brine shrimp. I've seen him nip once or twice at cyclop-eeze, but not any more than that. For the most part, he's just living off what's in the tank. Fortunately, I have a 20 gallon refugium that's crawling with pods. I also just tossed 500 (according to the bottle) tigger pods into the fuge last week and I think he'll like those. He's been going strong for 11 months like this.

I have been very fortunate, they are eating frozen mysis. However, they learned to do this themselves, probably out of hunger and running low on live foods in the tank. My husband bought them thru liveaquaria.com. I really enjoy them, not sure of their sex though, for there is no difference in the two I have and I don't know the difference between male and female.

They are about 5" long and thin.. not cause they are under nurished, just cause I think that is how they are... they eat like horses.. no pun intended :)

Wow, gorgeous! Where did you get the Potbellies and the Brevie?

Does everyone here have their pipefish in species tanks? Or does anyone have theirs in their reef?

I picked up this Jann's Pipefish about two weeks ago. I got him from a dealer in Fl. that had a half dozen or so in his reef tank with MUCH more aggressive feeders, tangs, blennies, anthias, clowns, etc. He said this was the only pipefish he knows of that can survive in a reef tank.

The pic is not nearly as good as the rest of you guys, but you get the idea. And now, introducing Mr. Ticonderoga:
