the tank will be all glass as for some reason acrylic very expensive in Thailand and has to be imported in most if not all cases...

Following. That looks like a headache to get a nice silicone bead all around in one shot. What is in the upper center? A window and an air conditioning unit?

One bad thing is you won't have a lot of surface area (water to air) in the display.

true. we will be adding airstones into the sump to oxygen to the water column

Don't build this. Your customer will not be happy with this tank. You can't reach the center button. No light in the middle also. This is not practical.

I agree with Torben, this tank design is a mistake.

With the shape of this tank, how will you be able to service it? I mean the opening will have to be in the top of the arms, and that will be a long way to the larger front pane at the bottom and below the connective area. It seems as if something as simple as keeping the glass clean will be impossible.

And also some good RC submarines - maybe try and fix an arm to one...

dave.m 04/11/2017 12:23 AM

Or maybe put your friends into a submersible and then shrink them down.

Oh,wait! It's already been done!

I've used a lot of different cleaner magnets. I still have to use elbow grease for some spots. Plus, what if a frag falls off a rock or if a rock falls or a fish dies. Not sure how you are going to get any of those things out. It just seems that maintenance of any kind will be impossible. I could see this tank as a sealed snow globe or something with fake rock, corals, and plastic fish dipped in a fluid that doesn't grow bacteria or algae, but I'm having a hard time seeing this tank exist long term.

Chriss614 04/11/2017 07:04 AM

Lets not criticize too much or they might give up on the thread. I don't know about everyone else but I'm curious to see how they will over come all the challenges this tank brings. Maybe we will all witness life changing maintenance tactics haha.

Absolutely agree. Yes, please don't take my questions as true criticism, since I'm honestly curious how a tank such as this will be maintained. Unusual shaped tanks are always interesting.

luvreefs23 04/13/2017 05:11 AM

Uhhh....I don't think they are filling to the top of the left and right columns. Prolly will serve as some kinda area to build rock out of water for crabs or a cascading waterfall return area. C'mon people. Lol

luvreefs23 04/13/2017 06:28 AM

At least that's what they should do to salvage the tank if that's not the plan, or maybe when they are done they will flip it upside down which would actually be better?

jimmy n 04/16/2017 08:36 PM

Holy smokes, it's a tv stand! That is a TV mount in the middle top:)
