Ok, here is just SOME of what showed up along with the rock! :eek2:
What kind of fish is that? He hopped along the rocks and then found a hole. Working on more pics of stuff out of the bags, in the tank... http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...33_KxWD9-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...86_gfQRn-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...52_HmWjx-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...45_DoqrY-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...59_2wF3A-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...63_BSdun-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...24_fWEs2-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...18_yBwPC-O.jpg |
Ok here's the last of the pics for now.
A tour around the tank from the left, along the front, to the right. I really need to re-think rock stacking/placement, but for now I just had to get it all in there!!! Ignore the monti frag, that's from my old tank. http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...64_SMoGM-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...91_i4Ujk-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...51_7BdUB-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...26_4FRH9-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...01_kdXPi-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...45_viuhd-O.jpg |

Oh my...awesome. I haven't even got part one and I already can't wait for part two. You scored. Beautiful.
|
Awesome stuff. The fish is a tiger goby. It will likely jump if you don't have a cover. This angle has the makings of a killer scape.

Tiger
Hiya
Looking good! the fish is a tiger Gobi....some ID info is here http://www.tampabaysaltwater.com/the...organisms.html Keep us posted! Richard TBS:spin3::spin3::spin3: |
Did you order "the package" or just the rock? That is an AMAZING amount of extras!! I bough a used tank that came with live rock but now I want to buy more! Saddly, I'm out room. I'm trying to upgrade so I may be buying from you soon Richard.
How's the blenny doing? |
Did you squirt the rocks with hot water to get a look at the hitchhikers?

But one of them i wanted to make smaller just now, so i took it out for a sec and one good hit with a sledgehammer busted it in half. Guess what was hiding in the split? A mantis! :fun2: |
OK Richard, I promise not to squirt with hot water. That is how he said he got some of the critters out of his first batch. I guess I'll just stick with traps.
I love the purple gorgonians. |
I LOVE Those purple gorgonians!! Richard, would you sell one of them seperately?
What type of starfish is the orange one? is it reef safe? You got a crazy good package! |

http://www.tampabaysaltwater.com/ord...pricelist.html and that florescent star?....used to be many here....but the red tide we had 5 years ago wiped them out....that is only the second one I have seen in years......awesome critter.... Richard TBS:rollface::rollface::rollface: |
Ammonia was closer to .5 this morning but this afternoon looked like it may have been moving closer to 1.0 again so just did another 25g water change.
Richard, thanks for the reply email this morning. I trimmed a couple of the effected tips off the yellow tree sponge. We'll see how it does. :) |
Here's a few more pics... did some re-arranging of rock, with 2 non-symmetrical pillars allowing flow from the vortechs in between. Aquascaping a walk around cube is HARD!!! LOL!

Looks awesome. That is exactly the look I was hoping you would create. Here's a suggestion that I think would be the icing on the cake. Take one of those photosynthetic gorgs (non-purple. They are indestructible) and epoxy it to a smallish flattish rock. Place that in the most open corner, slightly away from the corner. Bury it in the sand so it looks like a single tree/island. It will create a very cool 3-D look and balance the offset columns perfectly. Man I love that tank footprint!
|
Thanks for the tip!
I'll see if I have a spot for it. |

I was a landscape designer/contractor for several years. Don't feel like I am telling you what to do. I just really like what you have going with the two offset islands and thought it would look really cool. :fun4: |
Sweet! Love my little Tiger Goby which is in my tank in the den upstairs. He is constantly flitting around. My tank in the family room has no fish and there is a very discernible difference in terms of amphipods, copepods, mysis shrimp, etc. He keeps them fairly cleaned out whereas the tank in the family room has plenty. BTW, they need very little food. I feed mine basically nothing other than what he finds on his own or the scraps left over from feeding the starfish, etc. And that happens only once a week and not much then. And no, he doesn't look starved at all.

Here's my first ever tank VIDEO! :D
This lets you see the rock layout better than I can capture in pics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MEmSqpYxFo |

one suggestion.....the plants....need to be planted...so the root-ball is covered in sand......like a regular plant....everything looks real happy! sea ya Richard TBS:lolspin::lolspin::lolspin: |
