I have a well established aquaruim and it just had an outbreak of weird tiny brown/purple polyps they’re everywhere.does any one know what they are, if they’re bad and if so how to get rid of them.thanks for the help.

Hard to tell from the pic, but it may be some type of star polyp. If it is, they do grow fast and can overrun your tank. Manual removal, or possibly a fish predator could work.

Each polyp is three times smaller than a normal green star polyp, and they are a lot closer together.could it just be another type that is smaller.

Yep those are those hard to get rid of encrusting polyps.

If they're not causing any problems I would just leave them as they look cool. Is there any way you could isolate that rock?
