55 Reef Setup FS in East Amherst

I'm not happy about this at all, but I have to sell my tanks. I have had these for a very long time now, but I just graduated college and my living situation has changed my plans to move the setups to Michigan. My parents were awesome enough to keep up on daily maintenance while I was gone at school, so it's pretty upsetting to sell these after all of their hard work on top of what I've done.

The reef setup is a 55 gal with a 29 gal sump. I would like to get $1500 for the entire setup. Depending on final price, I could include things like the RO/DI system, etc. The display is drilled on both sides, but the sump is not. The sump has a skimmer section, followed by a refugium section that currently has no sand in it, then two baffles and the return section. I built the stand, and it is incredibly solid. I used leveling feet for each corner that can handle more than enough weight. It currently uses curtains to enclose the stand, but I have some nice wood paneling, trim, and hardware that is all cut/stained and ready to be assembled. The heater fried the tank 2 months ago while my parents were out of town, so there's not much livestock left. Major things are a very large Red Lipstick Lobo, a Bleeding Apple Bowerbanki Acan colony (this one took a large hit from the failed heater), a bunch of scattered zoas, 30-40+ heads of Frogspawn/Hammer/Torch hybrid, and 17+ Rainbow BTA's of varying size (I've been supplying ARC with these for years). The only fish are an ORA Yellow Watchmen Goby and a female Allardi Clown.
Equipment is as follows:
  • 48" 6x54W Current Nova T5-HO
  • Jebao RW-8 Wavemaker
  • ATB 840 Skimmer with Avast Swabbie Motorized Cleaner
  • Mag 9.5 Return Pump
  • Via Aqua Heater and Hydor Controller

The other tank is a freshwater setup, but I figured I would throw it up here anyways. For this setup, I would also like to get $1500. I purchased this one from an estate sale, and it was clearly custom made along with the cabinet. This is a very nice piece of furniture by itself, incredibly well-built with tons of storage above and below the tank. After I bought it, I decided to replace the front glass, re-seal the tank and replace all the trim with aluminum instead of plastic. All the glass is 1/2" thick, and the dimensions are 48" long x 12" wide x 31" high. It calculates out to roughly 80 gal. This is set up as a Tanganyikan Cichlid tank currently.
Equipment is as follows:
  • 48" 4x54W Wave Point T5-HO
  • 3x Koralia Evo 600
  • Fluval XP M Canister Filter

There's probably a ton of stuff I'm missing here, and I have a lot of other equipment as well, like my RO/DI system and a Super Reef Octopus XP1000SSS Skimmer for example. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions.

Thanks,

Andrew

I would love to post pictures up here but the file sizes are so much larger than the limit that they'll look terrible if I shrink everything down. I can email, text, or share them on Google drive with anyone who's interested.

Dropping the price on the reef setup. $1300 takes all the equipment, rock, livestock, etc.

Also, feel free to shoot me an offer on anything. The worst I can say is no, and I'm moving to Michigan in about a week and half. It kills me to say it, but this stuff needs to go.

Would you separate some of the bta?

aj2494 07/09/2017 11:40 AM

Absolutely. The only things I wouldn't want to separate right off the bat are the essential pieces of equipment.

Reef setup dropped to $1000. FW setup dropped to $1200.

$900 for the reef setup, $1100 for the FW. Somebody's gotta be looking for some new tanks!

I'm dropping them down to $800 for the reef setup and $1000 for the freshwater. Any and all reasonable offers will be considered.

aj2494 08/25/2017 11:18 AM

$700 for the reef tank and $900 for the freshwater. This is a screaming deal on the reef setup considering even just the equipment that comes with it. The skimmer is $600-700 new alone, so someone come grab these tanks!

Bump for the sale. It kills me how much work is poured into our tanks. A hiccup melts years of growth, or we sell for pennies on the dollar. Good luck. I' m house shopping and I got spanked with a vet a bill.

Are the clown or any bta still available?

Sorry for the late response, Tapatalk never notified me of this post. I hat that you can't trust their notification system. The answer is YES though, pretty much everything is still available. I've sent you a PM.

Somebody please make me an offer on these. Both setups literally just need to be picked up and moved; they're completely turn-key.

Bump

aj2494 11/01/2017 01:57 PM

Bumpity-bump...

If these setups sell at their current prices, it barely covers a month of student loans. I don't want to sound desperate here, but somebody help a recent college grad out!

aj2494 12/01/2017 09:44 AM

TTT

Despite all the people I've had come pick up anemones, there are still ~20 left. Most of the zoas are gone, but everything else remains. I'd really like to get these setups into someone's hands who can care for them and give them more attention than I can at this point in my life. It really sucks to have to get rid of them, but it's even worse knowing they're not being enjoyed as much as they could be. So please, if anybody's interested, make an offer on these so they can go to a good home.

aj2494 12/22/2017 11:25 AM

These are still available. New prices are now $500 for the reef and $700 for the freshwater. Both are completely turn-key setups that have been running for years.
