Mixing few additives

Hi All,

For an experiment purpose , I mixed Magnesium Chloride, magnesium Sulphate, Calcium Chloride and Sodium Bicarbonate in 5 gallon RO water in written order and adequate quantity by reef calc. With an hour difference. Water got milky look. Is it normal or Did I do something I shouldnt?
Thanks

Milky look was a result of precipitation. I would only mix magnesium chloride with magnesium sulphate. Even that will cause some precipitation, but not as much as what you experienced. Others should not be mixed with each other.

Mixing sodium bicarbonate with calcium chloride will cause precipitation of calcium carbonate, unless the solution is very weak. I would just ditch the supplements at this point, but the magnesium likely is still mostly in solution. The cloud should settle to the bottom as fine sand given a bit of time.
