some rock designs (by Jestersix).. going to focus on minimalist style. 3 main structures. mainly small fish so lot of little caves for them to hide.

only 2ft of clearance up top.. so building in layers

OH wow, that's a find and a half, looks like some lfs or wholesaler wanting to get rid of it?

I had to talk myself out of a similar 10' long design, it would have fit the space in wall perfectly.... except I realized I wouldn't be able to access a side, so have to reduce my dreams to 8' (and shorter too, no way I'm dealing with maintenance of a 30" tall tank!

And yeah Jestersix does make some very neat scapes, our club has had him out once or twice that I can remember, heck I even think he was part of our club at one point.

Awesome!! Looking forward to this build. That thing is massive!

I considered shorter height, but for a tank that long, anything less than 30" just looks short. rocks have to be short and fish have no room up top. I had a 48" tall tank running for awhile so I have a few extend sticks laying around

Johnny does great work! He's coming over tomorrow to help me finish rockscape. I've had the pleasure to work with him on several occasions. Highly recommend him to anyone. He drives from Norcal to my house in Socal for this

couple more pictures.. going to be a busy day tomorrow

Ya. We just made some base structures and then started playing LEGO from there. Takes 15min to fully dry.

Im sitting inside the tank as i type this lol.

Looks fairly simple to get to stick together. Do you need to mix it with anything?

The cement package should come with a milky color 2part compound. Its an acrylic mixer of some type that gives the cement more flexibility and stickiness. Just pour the liquid in a small cup of cement and mix. Keep it on the drier side. Keep the cups small. You have a few minutes of play time only

What cement are you using, aren't you going to have to cure this much cement for weeks to get the pH down?

Cool, a few questions.

After 20 mins it's dry but is it a safe to use at that point?

What's the best way to use this with an existing set up, if I'm looking to reaquascape?

it takes 15-20 min to dry so you can pick it up and move it. Pros have suggested that 1-3hr dry is enough to put back in water. I have always left them over night. no PH change. You need to lift existing rock out of water or drain your tank.

Damn I think you may have gone overboard with the circle in the middle, you plan on swimming through it? :D

m0nkie 09/25/2016 01:53 AM

Lol bit higher than i expected.. but im looking for negative space on this.. if i run out of coral space, ill design a few shelf rocks behind
