Adding a Female Mandarin Question
We've always had great success with having male mandarins and our current one is continuing our lucky streak. He not only eats pods, he eat live baby brine AND he eats frozen mysis!
This of course, makes having a mandarin so much easier when you know he'll eat multiple food sources, but that being said, we do have a lot of pods and are able and willing to supplement in the event of an unexpected population reduction. I've been toying with the idea of finding a female for our handsome green mandarin....has anyone done this/heard of it done....and what are the pros & cons of doing this. Is there a chance they won't bond and will fight instead? Anything I need to be thinking of that I'm blissfully ignorant of (ok, keep the answers on topic..lol). |
You could lose her or him in a fight. They will. To the death. You need plenty of pods and a big tank to introduce a strange mate.
