Ecotech Battery

I have 3 ecotech batteries, all different years and am wondering if there is a way to validate the "Charge" left in each. Would this be something reeflink can do?

I'm looking for a way to see that battery 1 has x% left in it etc.

I don't think there is an official solution, but you can always unplug it and check back in every 30 minutes and see how long they run for.

I unplugged them the other night at 8pm and they were still running when I got home from work the following day, roughly 18 hours. I'll try a longer cycle this weekend.

What device is the load?

These batteries are lead cell -- I could only assume if you probe the connector you should expect 12v. The lower the voltage at full charge, the more wear.

Rough gauge but when I have my BB hooked up to a Vortech and I unplug the AC power for the Vortech, the LEDs tell me what condition the lead battery is in.

deep cycle batteries have a 3-5 year life span. Both of mine lasted 3.5 years and only found out after a power outage, the LED's were still on but my pumps were not running. When I did a load test on the battery itself after taking it out of the housing, they were both dead. There is a great youtube video on how to drill out the rivets etc and replace the battery inside for ~ $50 in total. You don't have to go and buy a brand new EM battery backup with housing again.

The batteries inside an ECotech Backup Battery are deep cycle sealed lead acid batteries, with a voltage of 12 amps and either 17-18 amp hours of a rating.

You can buy a direct replacement and do the job yourself at home, easily. There are forums on 'replacing ecotech battery backup' if you look it up, you can find a guide.

The replacement battery as uwish said is only around 50$ to get.

Also, a 'perfect' condition SLA battery should have a full charge voltage of like, 13-14 volts or so, IIRC.
