GSP vs Frogspawn
I picked up a new nano tank a week ago and it came with all livestock. They had a huge gsp problem (and algae tbh) and I noticed that its growing on a branch of frogspawn (6 heads). It looks like the head that it's closest to is dead but I don't know if the gsp caused it or if it was already like that. I was wondering if I should I try to remove the gsp and if so how would I go about doing that? Thanks!

Not sure about it killing the frog, but GSP is easy to remove. Well, sort of. It can grow quick, but it can be removed by almost any means. Ripping, cutting, etc. Especially if you are not fragging it, then just tear it off or use a razor to remove it. It will heal up quick and be back at invading again.

Get it off. It will not stop! I love GSP but it wins out, period. Post picture and people will give u advice on how.

I tried to get it off last night with a razor last night but its in a spot that is really hard to get to. I'll upload photos tonight when I get home but I think my only choice is to frag the frogspawn.

Get it out of the tank GSP will kill all corals it comes in contact with. While GSP is easy to grow it becomes a weed fast and will kill and cause more trouble than its worth having in your tank.

I always keep gsp on it's own rock... in the middle of the sand bed.
Use razor to get them off. Good luck. |
GSP are great love them so pretty when its a good sized carpets moving in the water flow. It does grow fast and takes over anthing it touches. I traded my rather large colony to a lfs for credit and most likely go a few colored sticks, it was becoming an issue in my tank.

Gsp getfs out of control fast

If the frogspawn is healthy gsp has no chance of over coming it

My tank won't grow GSP :sad2:, but my torch grows like a weed.

I have a column dedicated to GSP. Never had a problem with it going anywhere I didn't want.
