Which fish is the best
I have a 80 gallon reeftank with a fire goby, blue green chromis, midas blenny, royal gramma, and I am going to get a pair of clownfish. Before I get clownfish, I want to get some small fish. I was thinking about a small wrasse or anthias. Will a midas blenny chase around a yellow coris wrasse? because they are similar in color. Here are the fish I had in mind
.Lyretail Anthias .yellow coris wrasse .flasher wrasse |

hello?
|
?
go with the wrasses, get a few of them, they will do just fine.........
|
Just not enthusiastic about the fish you have in mind
Different strokes for different folks I guess |
i personally like wrasses so either one of the 2 wrasse you listed would be my choice. yellow coris wrasse is also a great fish to have to help keep corals clean of pests.
|
I voted flasher, because you could probably get a couple. I'd recommend McCoskers and Linespot flashers.

thanks for answering.

yea, flaher wrasses would be a very cool addition if you get a few of them. the males like to show off for the females.
liveaquaria usually has them in trio's if you keep your eye open for them to come available. just make sure you dont over load your tank. the more fish the heavier the bioload and the more maintenance you will have to do. |
Be careful wrasses can get addictive. :) There are lots of fairies and flashers to chose from at all different prices ranges. Do some looking around and find a few that you like and come back with questions on them. Dispar anthias are nice and easy going and stay relatively small.

Flasher wrasses for sure.

Could I put a pair of flasher wrasses in my 80 gallon without overcrowding?
|
Wrasses are adicting. I finally got a flasher and than added a female. And now a leopard wrasse. They defiantly made all the other tank mates a lot more active. I have a Midas and he doesn't pick on any of the wrasses. I mainly got one to keep the corals clean and they a great job of that.

I have a total of 15 fish in my 90 as long as you have good filtration you will be fine.
|
I have a lot of ornamental crustaceans, especially Sexy Shrimp, so no wrasses for me. :( I would vote for the Lyretail Anthias, but multiple people recommended Threadfins or Bartlett's instead.
|
I am probably just adding one male flasher, and then clownfish.
