Order was placed with Miracles beginning of February 2012 after extensive research and shopping around. Glass was cut by Miracles 2/13/12.
Measurements are 96x36x23. 344 Gallons
Rimless but with triangular corner braces (not needed without waves) but, just in case. Two internal overflow boxes, each containing two 1.5 inch drains and one 1.0 inch return.

Thank you Derek for all your patience and assistance.

Undecided after another company returned my deposit for a stand order. Because of me they have a new policy of not building stands only for a custom order. So, at this point im either going with a local contractor for a wood stand with some experience in stand building or ordering a steel support stand from Miracles (which will be skinned by Miracles or have a local skinning).

Miracles recommends the Reef Central stand template and provides full warranty (5 year) if plans by contractor are approved.

is that 3/4" glass?

so even at that length, if your are not doing waves, you can go rimless??

clownfish14 02/28/2012 11:59 PM

what about making your own stand? thats what im doing for mine. im using steel also

laredo300c 02/29/2012 06:33 AM

Wow, tagging along,

Wonder if they would warranty that tank on a diy stand

Yes 3/4 inch glass starphire 3 sides, black background.
23" is the maximum height for a rimless 96x36. Anything higher would require eurobracing.

I do not have the skills or the tools.
Can I do it if I spend some money buying tools? Yes
Would the final product look like it was my first job? Yes
Would I have as much confidence as if a professional built it? No

I believe miracles requires plans from a professional contractor to be submitted and approved to get the full 5 year warranty. Miracles recommends the RC template.

Mixed reef, especially fond of LPS, especialy Lord Acans, lol. I was thinking of, in addition to softies and acans, having just one species of SPS, like just blue torts.
