Sooo excited, arriving Tuesday
Ok I know it's not a coral but those guys on the invert forum will just tell me a bunch of risks I already know. Can't wait to add this color to my tank!! Thanks to the guys at Aquatic Dreamer! I have been searching for one of these forever. Oh and props to Bongo Shrimp for finding them for me!

Ooooohhh nice. I've always loved the look of them, but never had the balls to do it. The one store here gets them occasionally.
|
Very, very nice ;) Can wait to see it once you get it. Wish some smaller ones would come it since these guys are monsters. In scale it would over power the my tank so no apples for me.

I can live with that ;) There is something else coming in but I doubt it will be here this week...ask Brett. M |

I don't think most people understand how extremely rare that thing is.
|
What exactly is it?

It's a Royal Sea Apple. Pseudocolochirus tricolor |
Quick shots with the phone. I'll get better ones after the lights come up and he settles in.
Arrived at 9:45 A.M. Started to feed 3 minutes in the tank. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...B/ecdbd028.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...B/b5450c3e.jpg |
Very nice. I just purchased what the store listed as a purple sea cucumber with flowered spikes, that I suspect is actually some type of sea apple. Picking it up tonight or Thursday, had to arrange putting it in around water changes. Didn't want it going in just before or right after one. Probably over cautious but that's my m.o.

Nice! I didn't know they were that rare though, I used to see them semi occasionally.. but now that you mention it I haven't seen one in a long time!!!
|
They are quite hard to find. Surely because they are not for everyone along with they are just hard to come by in the wild. So here is a FTS, after moving things around to make room, with him firmly attached and happy. Sorry about the poor picture quality just a quick one with the phone.
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...B/9f036beb.jpg Here is my old one. You wil note the tentacles of my spiny cucumber that is over two years old. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...B/0cfccb98.jpg |
Told yah so ;) That beautiful royal blue & gold wrecking ball is definitely too big for my tank. Make sure everthing is glued well since that baby has some girth to her. Tank is looking great but you need some more orange in there. Time to take a drive down to Tropicorium and brighten up the center of the tank.

You never know, my experience is once they find a happy spot they don't move around. I'm looking for a nice big colony of dendrophyilla. I need a trip to Trop and I know the boys at Cherry are getting some in.

slapshot, I think you may have a problem. Every time I come to this forum you are purchasing something new. The first thing you need to do is admit you have a problem. The second thing I am willing to help you with. I am in Toledo, I will meet you half-way and take all of your tube nems, gorgs, and this new addition. Purge yourself of these material things and conquer your addiction!
|
Btw, I loooove Tropicorium, are there any other LFS up your way I need to check out? The boyfriend and I tend to take salty road trips.

There are so many good stores around here, each has their individual strengths. Trop is obvious but you could make a fun day hitting Fish Docs, and Pet Connection. They are close by and worth the stop. Lots of good stores on the north and east sides, Kees, Reef Solutions and then there is always Pruess if your looking for a worthwhile hike. |
