Clams die without water change
The giant clam is alone in a 6L salt tank with no filtration but with sunlight yet it died. Do they release gametes when this happen to them?

Here is some reading on their spawning habit (The answer is no.)http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2009/8/inverts
What made you think that keeping a tricinadia in that condition was a good idea? I only ask because you said "yet it died" |

if the clam was releasing some sort of fleshy or meaty stuff that might have turned black within the day
|
that was necrotic tissue. Part of the dead clam
|
but why are some of the living clams spewing that out?

that is bad because they are fed with algae-filled sea water but others are totally fine
|
How many clams do you have in the 6L tank? How long have they been in there?
|
If the tank is truly only 6 liters, I'm guessing that none of the clams will be there for very long.
