keeping fish with mantis shrimp

I am looking to add some more fish to a tank containing a G. graphurus (55mm). At the moment he lives like a king in my 24 gallon with heaps of rock work and tunnels and chambers everywhere. Ive had 2 green Chromis with him since the start and also a Coopers Anthias (which is no longer in the tank - reason unrelated to the mantis), he does not pay any attention to the fish which is cool, never shows aggression toward them and doesnt flare up or anything. They often come up real close to one another and neither seem to mind each other. Hes a bit picky and is really only interested in crabs and clams (not snails or hermits etc) so I see this as a good opportunity to add something else to the tank. So my question is - what species of easy-to-keep fish would be good to try out? Any suggestions will be appreciated.. I am still new to keeping stomatopods. Also what fish and other things do you keep with yours? Id like to hear what people have in their tanks :) Cheers.

My mantis moulted last week and these are the only glimpses ive seen of it so far, good thing I had my camera ready. The colours look spectacular atm! though you cant see much in the photos. And hes now regenerated the right raptorial appendage which was only half grown before. :)

Amazing looking mantis! I really dig the colors!

Sorry I can't answer your question I only keep damsels with my mantis because they are easily replaced ($4).

hey yea a lawnmower blenny would work well in my tank. Think I might give that a shot. How long have you had yours together with the mantis?

I knew a dude who kept a bangaii cardinal with his Peacock. They even shaired a burrow.

How often does one feed live food to a pseudosquilla ciliata? I'm thinking of buying a few blue-green chromis to feed him, but they're like $5 apiece. I read somewhere here that buying freshwater fish is bad for their diet, so those cheap goldfish are out of the question.

Also, what type of camera was used to take those pictures? The images look really nice and clear.

I have 3 green chromis, 1 six line wrasse, 1 yellow tail damsel, 1 tail spotted blenny, 2 yellow clown gobies, and recently i did have a purple firefish but it disappeared. I actually think that my mantis was moving a bunch of sand in a corner and he covered up my purple firefishes dart hole that he sleeps in and eventually died. =(

lol unlucky firefish

I've kept a G. smithii with a yellow tail damsel for about 7 months. I feel like the stomatopod could kill the fish on a whim at any point so thats all I've dared to add to the tank.
