Quarantine of inverts...

I’m ordering some small hermit crabs to use as cleaners. Do they require QT? And if so what is recommended method...just keep and observe in QT tank for 2 weeks or is there a dip of sorts, like freshwater dip or formalin, etc?

If you dip them in anything youll almost certainly kill them, inverts are really sensitive to chemicals and freshwater. Putting them in a QT tank is really the only option for them.

You don't really need to QT Invertebrates.

fish get QT for treatments/observation of parasites that spread and infest the whole aquarium that you can't really treat for the sake of your inverts and corals (meds kill them too), mainly ich. Invertebrates don't have those issues as frequently, and the parasites they do get often don't become as problematic, a lot of them aren't harmful and barely considered parasites, and even if they do get them, you can't treat it anyway since copper kills the inverts too.

If a fish thats infected with ich gets in an aquarium, the whole aquarium becomes infected and there's no way to get rid of it unless you starve the aquarium for months without fish due to ich's life cycle. So its a really big chance you take not QTing those compared to inverts.

You can just toss them in.
