Problem with low water in my last stage on my refugium
For some reason the water level in my last stage of my refugium has dropped...i have my return pump in there also my protein skimmer, submersible heater and my nextreef reactor...the level was fine till this last week....which has affected my protien skimmer to not work properly

Welcome! Sounds like water evaporation...do you have a top off system setup?
Pics always help to. |
As long as you are seeing water on the floor you have to replace the water that evaporatied. Ato’s make this much easier.
|
is there a pad that may be clogged?
|
Did you Make any adjustments on your overflow drain? Could be evaporation as mentioned above. Invest on ATO
|
My guess is you need an ATO. Not only is it important to keep the water levels stable in your sump so that your return pump doesn’t burn out by running dry, but more importantly, it keeps your salinity stable for your tank inhabitants.
|
The section where the return pump is where all evaporation shows up.
If it's a small area it will run low in a short time. This is where your ATO should be. |
Not watee evaporation....its like the pump pushes the water out the last stage faster than the water enters the sump
|
If it’s a DC controllable pump, then turn it down. If it’s an AC pump you need a valve on the output end to throttle back the flow.

Got it fixed...thanks everyone....the louvers were clogged
