Polyp slowly die.. help please

I have a 75 gallon reef. mainly soft corals and polyps. I recenty went through a bad velvet break out and lost all my fish.. Lesson learned I have currently set up a hospital tank and plan on qt all new fish from here on out.. My Tank is going to sit fallow for at least 4 months

Ok question is .. I have noticed my zoanthids slowly closing and than die.. I have tried to look for a predator. I dont see anything. Can someone give me ideas on what might be happening. I have taken corals out of tank and dipped them trying to find a predator but dont see anything. water perimeters are good ..
Can marine Velvet affect corals? :headwallblue:

Can you post actual parameters for:

temp
salinity
alk
Ca
Nitrates

Fallow period for velvet is much shorter than 4 months, something like 6 weeks. Ich is about 72 days.

Velvet can't affect corals.

Thank you for the response. I will post water parameters tomorrow, im at work now,

The reason for the 4 months fallow is just in case it was ick . I want to be sure all illnesses are gone.

Water parameter are

temp = 80
salinity 1.025
ammonia = 0.25
nitrates = 0.50

Im guessing the ammonia and nitrates a slight spike because of my fish dieing. All was removed immediately. I will do a couple large water changes and see if they come down.

Well, zoanthid eating nudibranchs and/or a Eunicid worm could be culprits. You should find the nudis on the zoas, but the Eunicid could be in a rock halfway across the tank, and only come out at night.

Corals like nitrates of 2-5ppm as a food source.....
