Eheim Jager Heater

Hi guys!! I just bought a new Eheim Jager heater 200w heater rated for 106 gallons. I set the thermometer as it at 79F in my sump. In the morning I noticed my water is 76.3F. I adjusted the knob to 80F and I am not getting much of a difference. I would assume the heater would be on at 76.3F to heat up to the setted temperature of 79F but it was off.

Is this normal for this thermometers? Do I need to put in 2? Why didn't the heater turn on when the water was at 76.3F?

By the way, My tank is 112 gallons.

They need to be calibrated. If it's holding the tank at 76, turn the red arrow (it moves) to 76 and then adjust as necessary. It's one more step than other brands but if the others are out (often) they can't be changed.

200w for 112g is perhaps a little small but it will still do the job unless your room temp is quite cold. The Eheims seem to heat more gallons per watt than other brands as well.

I have 2x200w Jagers on my 112 gallon RSR 425XL. The second one rarely comes on but occasionally is needed to help the first one of the room is cold. I would recommend having more than just that single 200w.

I agree that the Eheims heat more than other brands IME.

I have 5 eheim heaters and what I've seen is that any time, they can be plus or minus 3'F. I use an Apex so I dont notice that effect but when I put the heaters in my QT, the temp swings a lot.
