Cloudy tank water
For some reason my tank water has is cloudy. I don't why. Any subjection anyone

White cloudy? Probably bacteria bloom. Do big water changes to get nutrients down. Also I would suggest a UV sterilizer

Depends on what sand. Marco sand can cloud up a tank if stirred enough.
To much baking soda or other two part solutions can as well. Also bacterial bloom in a new tank, I have never had it though. |
Check if the blurriness is due to: 1 - micro bubbles 2 - small particles of sand from goby 3 - diatom bloom.
Are you dosing carbon in the form of vinegar, vodka, nopox, etc? I had a white haze from a distance and just never could get that crystal clear water until I installed a UV sterilizer. I suspect it was a bunch of free floating bacteria. Also my xenia have faded fast and died since adding the uv les than a month ago. That doesnt upset me. Nothing else has been affected and the water is amazingly clear. |
I agree that bacterial blooms, stirred up sand, and small bubbles are all possibilities. My first guess would be the goby. :) I'd wait a few days, and see whether the tank clears up. Are all the animals okay? Most often, this type of event doesn't cause any problems.

Can you give more information on your maintenance schedule and other things to figure out
|
If it the goby stirring up the sand, most likely, you will see the sand settling out on the rock.
