Hey guys, just got back into the hobby from a 10 year Hiatus, and reconfigured my 90 Gallon FOWLR (making a transition to a Reef Tank) on the rocks i found this coral, can anyone help me ID it?
And is it hard keep alive and flourishing?

Temp : 80
PH :8.39
Salinity: 33.1
Alkalinity: 10
Calcium: 380
Mag: 980
Nitrate: 0
Phosphate:0

Dosing Seachem Reef Fusion 1 and Reef Fusion 2, on alternate days 70ml. with a Jebao Dosing Pump.

Berlin Style Sump with a refugium, Growing Chaeto (trying).
2 Hydra26 HD Running from 8am to 8pm.

JBJ Chiller

it looks like a partially dead acropora base.

You're also going to have to raise that mag and calcium.

I agree that your calcium and Magnesium are pretty low. I'm surprised that the Alkalinity is where it's at. Before adding any more supplements I would suggest getting your water checked at your LFS.

As for the coral - perhaps a very unhappy goniopora sp.?

It looks kind of like the remnants of a Montipora digitata IMO.

Always raise mag first to approx 1350, then measure Alk and calcium and dose if required.
Mag is the buffer for these two....

Thanks alot guys, getting mag levels up, taking my ro/di water tested and will do my best to take care of this sps cotal.

Just a quick update,

MG:1350
Ca:460
Kh:9
PH:8.39
Phosphate: 0
Niitrate: 0

And took the foto and a friend with a lot of experience in the Hobby and this is what he to the conclusion the coral to be:

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Cnidaria
Class: Anthozoa
Order: Scleractinia
Family: Montastraeidae
Genus: Montastraea
Species: M. cavernosa
Binomial name
Montastraea cavernosa
Linnaeus, 1767

Again thanks a lot to all of you guys, now im confident i can add more corals.....btw the coral is doing awesome.......
