Apologies if I missed it in the thread, but how are you going to supplement calcium and alkalinity?
After using calcium reactors for eons, I find I greatly prefer an automated 2-part dosing system (e.g., Profilux). Some people use the true Balling method, but I haven't tried that yet. Absolutely fantastic build. I love how neat and organized everything is. |
I'm almost as taken with the photography as I am with the tank itself. It's going to look amazing.
|
Amazingly clean and looks great! I really like the idea of a walkaround tank! What are the dimsions on the tank? If I had to guess 36x36x ~20H? I am excited to see how you create the corner overflow and make it all look clean, but I am sure you will make it look great!
Keep the photos and info coming!! |
DT, for now I'll just dose manually but may eventually set up some sort of 2-part dosing system or something. We'll see how it goes. I do have the room in the stand.
Croc, thanks. lol Fig, thank you. It's 36x36x24 |
Incredible. I was hoping to get a 130g cube like that as well. Can you PM me the builder?
|
i might have missed it, but what are the dimensions of your tank? very nice btw. ive thought about a cube with a center overflow but the real estate thing worries me too. was thinking 48x48x24, but really dont know how big the overflow would end up being. anyway, awesome setup.

Love the look, and the build. Super Clean.

LOL, ya I've been meaning to make a sig. Lazzzzzzzy. :D

Very nice! I like your cone skimmer. Just a tip though, you might want to paint the hinges also to avoid rusting. :)
|
what's your tank dimensions again??:fun4: JK.
Gorgeous tank! I was thinking about getting the 150g 36"x36"x27" cube by marineland. Keep up the good work so far!! |

What are the demensions of the tank?
jk  Honestly though this tank has some potential. You really seem to have a good eye for design already. Can't wait to see the rock structure. |
I would agree with painting the hinges, or at least coating them somehow, as mine are rusted solid. I'm going to have to replace them after 18 months (or less)
|
I'll look into the hinge protection. Thanks!
Ok, me gots me some bulbs! Man, props to ReefGeek !!! The bulbs came double boxed and box #2 was suspended by foam blocks inside box #1. Inside box #2 was packing peanuts. Awesome. So here they are installed. End cap is removed from the fixture to allow bulb installation. I think I did pretty good with color on the first try. We'll see once I get the tank filled and stocked if I need to make any changes color wise. Notice the T5 colors. The ATI Blue Pluses are way more blue than the UVL Super Actinics which have more of a pink tint. UVL on the inside and the two ATI on the outside. http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...69_q8Zhd-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...87_ZN4bv-O.jpg http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...92_8frbv-O.jpg End cap has to be removed in order to remove the glass so you can access the bulbs. Just the T5's again in this image. http://d2creative.smugmug.com/Other/...19_aBB3d-O.jpg |
Very Nice! I will follow this setup. :)
