Decided to add some frogspawn to the tank . Placed a large colony next to the hammer and all is well. It’s just starting to expand this morning after being added last afternoon.

I love keeping several species of Euphyllia together.

Good work! Tanks look great...

Looks cool but everyone has the same colors in the tank. It's always green/purple. There yellow (i'm not taking the metallic yellow one, though. I real yellow one!), orange, red hammers. They're rare and expensive but worth it.

Agreed... but as you said... hard to come by.

I keep finding more and more website of people who sell them. You just have to google for a long time, looking at every picture, trying to find websites. Seems like some announce new arrivals on some forums. I'll get a yellow/purple morph for my big tank soon. Just need to wait a little bit. I already spent so much again. The colony is 4.5x4.5 and costs 250 bucks. I also found someone who sells rainbow torches and what not. Man, I could lose sleep over this kind of stuff. I see them and I go crazy thinking about where to put them in my tank even though I don't even have them yet :D I also found a blue hammer coral! Can you believe it?? BLUE!

You need to be really careful about getting these online. Many places are selling blue and yellow and gold Hammers and Frogs, but when you get them, the colors quickly fade and they look ping or brownish in a few weeks.

I even saw a guy who was feeding his Euphyllia tank some yellow type food and all the corals looked very nice and yellow, but once you took them home and started your normal routine, they turned out to be green or pink.

Just my two cents, not trying to start a debate, but I would only buy expensive corals from a LFS. This way, if it changes color after a few weeks, you have a place to bring it back to.

Is that a big toadstool on top? I like those.

Yes that’s a long polyp toadstool. It’s currently waxed over and about to shed.

Funny you should post that. I was thinking the same thing when I had my frogspawn in my 100 gallon. Quickly took over the tank. In fact, I'm seeing something similar with the hammers I have. Started with one. Accidently broke a piece off then two. Now I have 4 rather large hammer corals that take up a lot of room. Too much room but it does tend to keep the Xenia in check so I'm ok I guess.
