Rimless build.

Just wanted to post a question, I'm planning on building a 36x24x12 rimless tank, I'm trying to figure out if 3/8" will be enough or would 1/2" be needed. Hoping uncleof6 sees this and can chime in.

Assuming glass and that those dimensions are in inches...

yes 3/8" (10mm) is a good choice for glass and will make for a very solid rimless tank..

You could even do 5/16"(8mm) and still have a 10+ safety factor..
Usually 7.6 is the target safety factor min with a rimless tank..

What would the safety factor be if I were to use 1/4"?

Just right at 7.6 I believe..
I personally would not use 1/4"..

Fair enough. 3/8" it is then.

One last question, if I was to make it 14" tall instead of 12" would it still be safe to use 3/8" glass?
