clean up crew for 125 gal reef?
 

what do you guys suggest? what and how many of the little critters?

I would suggest getting some hermits, some turbo snails, cerith snails and nassarius snails. How many you get really depends on how much rock and other types of critters you have. In my 125 I have about 25 nassarius snails, 30 hermits or so, ~20 snails of different types. But, of course, if you have more algae you may need more cleanup crew to take care of it, or if you have almost no rock or algae, fewer may be all that is required. A lot of it is also preference

I agree except for the hermits---too often it is a bad mix between hermits and snails---they eat the snails for their shell---or they kill them just for fun---but eventually they will deplete the number of snails you have.

Exactly my thoughts.

I had 50+ snails turn into 5 or so after gettin a dozen blue legged hermits for my 125g. I removed them all and my snails actually multiply. I would also disagree with the turbo snail's as well. They get very large and will buldoze over your frags. Its not a good thing. I'd say get 50-100 nassarius snails if you plan a dense san bed and a large cucumber. Then get around 25 astrea or cirth's. They will be good for the glass and rocks.
