Clams and LED lighting
I have a 90 gallons tanks water optimum water parameter mature with a live rock and live fresh Caribsea Aragonitc sand.
Tank is 48, 18 and 24 inches deep. I have two Aquaticlife Halo LED can successfully keep clams, which species? sales people at MarineDepot told me yes but I rather have your inputs. Thanks a lot Tony |
I have never had those lights. Also, there is a big difference in clam light between the different species.
Can you get any PAR readings on them? If they are anything like a Kessil, then they might struggle that deep anywhere outside of the 6" area RIGHT underneath the light. Deresa or Squamosa might be OK if you can get 200 PAR. I would avoid Crocea and Maxima. |
