ACjr - capability with DC8, DC4HD, AquaSurf, Lunarsim & Lunarsim Questions

Can the AC jr. base unit have all the above products at the same time?

Also, is the Lunarsim completely user dimmable and adjustable? For Example, can I program 30% light output for LED #1 from 8pm to 10pm, then 60% from 10pm to 12am, and LED #2 will come on at 12am at 30%, etc? Or, is it select a mode (Bahamas) and the LEDs will dim and brighten with the lunar phases of the Bahamas and the user has no other control? Please clarify...

Thanks!

The Jr can control the devices in question but you will run into the 12 timer limit of you try to configure all the devices on all the components.

You be able to program 12 timers, in any configuration though (you will need 1 for the LunarSim, 2 or more for the AquaSurf (depending on the number of profiles you configure), the DC8 (8) and DC4 (4).

Your other LunarSim question; no, the LunarSim is not user dimmable; it uses the season table to set the percentage; I guess you could modify the lunar table but you would not, for example be able to have the LunarSim be bright/dim at different times during the day as your example. You can change the location (longitude, latitude of the AC3 using AquaNotes).

Thanks for the response.

So that means, 4 outlets will be taken up for the 4 Tunzes and 8 will be left over for lights, chillers, etc. with the Aquasurf in play.

Too bad about the Lunarsim, the website's description can be misleading IMO...

Yes, that is correct; if you are using 4 tunze and all 4 addresses for the AquaSurf you would be using 4 addresses (leaving 8 for the other timers).

I have a quick question about the ACjr. How many DC4s and DC 8s can be plugged into the controller? Also if you do not have the ACjr controlling each plug on the DC4 or 8 can you still have things plugged into it just to power them? Thanks

You are not limited by the number of DC4s and DC8s but you are limited to the number of ports that can be controlled.

The Jr is documented to control 12 timers so 1 DC4 + 1 DC8 = 12 ports if you used all outlets. If you had current issues and wanted to user 2 DC4s and 1 DC8 then you would still be limited to 12 ports, meaning that 4 plugs on the DCx(s) would not be usable.

Since the DCx devices initialize to "off", there would be no way to turn them "on" in order to just use the outlets without control (in reply to your second question).

Thanks for the info!
