Unidentified colonies spreading like wildfire!
I've got these unidentified colonies of stuff all over my tank, probably 20+ dime sized colonies.
I have read the pocilipora could do polyp bailout and spread, but could anyone tell what it really is? The (possible) culprit? http://i.imgur.com/D8OfIWYh.jpg The 20 baby colonies http://i.imgur.com/6wVfaQsh.jpg A closer (though fuzzy look) http://i.imgur.com/O5TJfLzh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/TrpuOJEh.jpg Help!!! |
Pocillipora can spawn in a tank very easily. I suspect that's what this is.

Pocillipora is the worse for that. Took me forever to get it out of my tank.

Yeah thats Pocillipora. Cool at first...

what have i unleashed!
#neveragain i'm using superglue + epoxy to cover up the babies, and maybe move the mother colony to a fish only tank... sigh |
Haha, that stuff is cool at first then its literally growing everywhere. Get rid of your mother colony and let the babies grow. You can let them grow out a little then snap them off and trade them into your lfs for food or something else.

Good luck my LFS won’t tank that stuff anymore since it seems it dose well and just about everyone can get them to grow! I have been just barking them off when I see them. Nice at first but a pain once it starts to go.
