Reef radiance dm-155e
My light came in on Friday so I thought I would share. So far I'm very happy with the lights, which were a much needed upgrade. Not only is the light great Rick from Reef Radiance was very nice, helpful, and super fast at getting back to me via email. I'm trying to get a good picture with just the blue lights on, but they keep washing out, so here is one with everything on. The brightness is probably about 20% white 40% blue. After works over this weekend I'll post more pictures on Monday.

Thanks for sharing, what are the dimensions of your display tank and how far is the bottom of the DM-155e fixture from the surface of the water? Looks like pretty good spread side to side with just 1 unit. Is the spread good from front of glass to back of glass?

Looking good. I got my IT 2040 on Friday as well. Now I just need to make supports to hang it.
|
Awesome, I got mine as well! Rick is a great guy and fast at replying! Did you take your lenses off or are you keeping them on?

The light spread is about 24 inches x 12 at 5 inches above the water with the 90 degree optics. I'm also more like 15% white 30% blue now that I'm home looking at it. The spread increases some when I turn it up, but I'd like to get my corals use to the increased lighting. I had intended on mounting the light 2-3 inches higher, but I apparently measured poorly when rushing to get it up before work. So something I intend on fixing during the week. I would also like to try removing the optics since its a small talk, and I'd rather have more spread than I need depth since I only have about 11 inches of water to the sand bed.
Over all still very very happy, just a few changes that I need to make on my part. |

I'm in a rented apartment, so no drilling holes for attachments in the walls or ceiling. Just going with a quick and dirty PVC frame attached to the stand that I can hang it from. Knocked one out in about 15 minutes, not counting the HD trip :D Couple of minor tweaks to make in my measurements. Then I'll paint it black to match the stand and light to give it finished look, instead of the current wet lab service look :D

Getting my unit in within this week hopefully. Will post pictures later on. But your tank is looking good!

and congrats on a fine Reef Radiance product, it looks great over your tank too, those weren't available when I bought my DM132e lights or I may have had a set of those instead, but I love mine just the same :) |
Hello all! I know this thread is from some time back, but I was wondering how is your Reef Radiance experience thus far. I'm thinking about getting them and would love to hear from you. Thanks
|
Got mine about a month ago, very happy with the light and customer service.

Remember all LEDs are going to have the greatest par right below the light. |
Thanks for the info.

I wonder if one of these would be overkill on a 12 gallon nano?
|
Probably :D
I've got my IT-2040 over a 29g. Right now the blues max out at 30% and the whites at 15%. Not sure if I'll end up going up a bit or not with the intensity. The sea rod I collected in 15' of water seems real happy at this current setting. |
I know this is a long shot on an old thread.
But I'm wondering if any of you still run Reef Radiance LEDs. I bought 3 of the DM155 E fixtures also Dec of 2013 and they stopped lighting up Nov of 2015 Didn't even get a Full Two Years out of them.... anyone else share similar experience ? Is this Normal for Black Box LEDs ? I was told parts were no longer available and I should purchase 3 new fixtures. Don't wanna do that if there just gonna burn out in two years ! |
