PICS..........PICS................PICS !!!! I have heard that these LED stips are the bomb!

We should have the 36" test unit in here right after Christmas. I will get it hooked up and running over a system to get some par numbers, etc.

I am interested in a 60 or 72 inch model. I dont have the foggiest idea what to expect pricewise. I would like to preorder one, but need the price info for a whole kit.

For right now you are going to have to use 2 x 24" or 2 x 36".

Can they be added to any fixture?

We heard back from Reef Brite this morning. They said that our demo 36" unit should be here in just a few days. I will get some pictures posted as soon as it's here.

Found this on another site. Finally some lengths at least.

They come in blue, white and 50/50.
Lengths available are 24", 36" and 48".

I would like to order these instead of t5's or vho's for supplemental lighting. Do I need 2x36" for a 6 foot tank or can I use one 48"? Main lighting will be lumenmax elites with lumatek 400w variable ballasts & 2-250w & 1-400w radiums.

Hi guys, we just got our first shipment of these last week. They are awesome to say the least. I put a 24" module over a 48" tank just briefly, that is running a couple of 250 halides and a couple t5's, and the all blue reefbrite made a pretty substantial and noticeable difference, and that was only a single 24" fixture. I'll have pics up very soon.

Tank is 72"L 24"W 30"D. Right now I have 4-96w 50/50 pc's for supplemental lighting.

Would 2-48" staggered front and back have comparable coverage?

You can purchase the same led strips off e-bay. The pars on them are aren't what you say they are. They are like the led strips you put in for walkways,tailgates and all that other stuff. I bought a set off e-bay for 15.00 in the aquaruim setup and they just light up pars are very low. Impress me with something good.

Stay with them lights you have unless you go led bulbs not strips

Oh my... I am either misunderstanding your post or you are sadly mistaken. Perhaps you are confused since (for some strange reason) PA will not post specs on these strips. I believe these are the specs:

The reefbrite LED strips use six 3 watt LED (bulbs) per foot. Therefore...

48" = 24 LED
36" = 18 LED
24" = 12 LED

However, each 3 watt LED bulb is running at 2 watts. The reason for this, according to reefbrite, is "to insure proper life and color spectrum of the LED's".

I contacted reefbrite directly. They said these LEDs are NOT dimmable. However, they hinted that a diimmable version will be available in the future, but no idea when that will happen.

These are NOT $15 ebay LED strips.

Google "This is what 200 watts of LED actinic light looks like" without the quotes and select the first result to see what supplemental lighting with these LED strips looks like.

No they are not the same thing..

Flip77 - You are mistaken about these. While there are a ton of LED "strips" on the market, these are not the same thing you have tried, I'm sure of it. Here is what we have so far.....

The strips have the following number of LED's.....

15" - 6 LED's
24" - 12 LED's
36" - 18 LED's
48" - 24 LED's

The LED's are adjustable in power, with roughly a 40% decrease or increase. For example, this 24" in the photos can be driven anywhere from 15w up to 25w.
