Excellent, very nice. what all kinds do you have in there?

drunkenmonk 03/23/2012 06:35 AM

Looking great, they all look nice and healthy! Can I recomend a couple more greens, and maybe a couple browns in there, That way you dont get a completely red look :D

I like it, cant wait to see it grow out. Do you have any ideas on what others your planning to add or corals, fish ect?

joejoe1055 03/23/2012 05:05 PM

Maybe some one with more experience can tell you the exact names. Sorry not really sure on the names.

Drunkenmonk, I totally agree with ya. Most places are out of Macros (seasonal) at the moment. I keep my eye out in the Classifides.

The tank (40b) is part of a 150 gallon sump. So I probably won't be putting any livestock in their besides the watchman that's in their.

joe, thanks bro.

The second picture looks like Violet Dream unless it is the same plant that is in the third pic, second (red) is Dragon's Breath algae, second (green) is halimeda, the third (blue) is ochtodes, and third (red) looks like Gracilaria mammillaris.

phishcrazee 03/24/2012 01:04 PM

Will you ship me a small ball of the blue ochtodes PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE?????!!!!! I love it and the stuff I bought about a month ago arrived doa because of the cold :/ Name your price :D Perhaps we could trade? Looking for anything?

phishcrazee 03/24/2012 01:07 PM

Nice looking tank, btw. I have extra c. barbata if you'd like some of that.......they remind me of Trufula Trees if you've seen the Lorax movie :)

drunkenmonk 03/24/2012 10:37 PM

The 3rd red macro looks like Red Titan to me. Titanophora Sp.

What is that purple algae in the top right hand corner? Ive seen it before but haven't been able to find the name of it. Ive been trying to find different color algaes for my seahorse tank im setting up.

Blue ochtodes

mtc1966 03/31/2012 07:52 AM

very very nice everything looks so healthy. if you ever decide to trim the blue othodes please let me know. cant find that locally.

StephLionfish 03/31/2012 05:07 PM

Awesome tank! Looks very clean and open.
BTW, if you decide to start shipping, or want to trade macro, I'd love some of the blue ochtodes. I have some Prolifera and Mexicana that looks real nice in the sand bed that we could trade, if you wanted.
Love the ric, too.

Great looking macro tank. Any updated tank shots? I've got some red Dictyota and Codium if you're interested!

niteowl03 04/30/2012 08:55 AM

Glad I ran across this tank. I am about to start a macro tank and this is going to be good inspiration.

TRENT_G 05/03/2012 07:58 PM

Thanks guys, when it grows out a little more I'm defently up for some trading. I'm in desperate need of some greens.

Its a SE 250w 20k bulb with no supplemental lighting. I run it for 6 hours a day. Not the best for a Planted thank but it seems to be working. Ideally I would like to get a 6 bulb T5 setup. Hope this helps

pitmindi 08/07/2012 09:05 PM

Will you please post a current picture of your tank. Also do you have a skimmer or a refugium and what fish do you have? Do you use supplements? Thank you for your help. I just started a 125 gallon planted marine tank.

tyler22 08/08/2012 10:44 AM

looks awesome!

jackkk 08/08/2012 02:41 PM

Not enough fishs and algae. Look nice

Forrest3320 09/06/2012 04:00 PM

I would say best one I have seen so far

TRENT_G 09/10/2012 09:05 PM

Thanks for the compliments. Bad news...... I threw a bunch away due to FW from my LFS. Then I bought a cleanup crew and it consisted of 3 huge Mexican Turbo snails. I thought my macro was melting away for some reason until I noticed the snails were eating it all. :( In the matter of a few weeks their is almost nothing left. What's left will grow back but it's going to be a while. As for the snails I have someone picking them up tomorrow. Lesson learned...... Will update in a few months. ;)

PS. I'll get a picture of the destruction.
