How long does PVC glue take to dry & cure??
Will it be safe to run water through it say 1 hour??
I know it dries pretty quick. I have livestock in the tank already. I have to make some minor changes to the drain & return pipes. TIA |
I ususally only wait an hour too.
Never had a problem. hth, Sean |
Yea 1 hr is fine, I don't even wait that long :D
I think the longest I've waited way 1/2 an hour. I guess an hour would be on the safer side. :D
agreed i never wait either.
I agree with the 1/2 hour too. Probably long as I wait.
1/2 HOUR TOPS.
I used to plumb with PVC for actual plumbing, and was taught to wait about 2-3 minutes. Since we are talking delicate corals, you really only need to wait till the primer and glue fully hardens, which isn't much more than 20 mins
An hour is for full cure to rated P.S.I and temp. The bonds would probably be good to go as far as that aspect in a couple of minutes, but I wait at least two beers if the glue mushed into the inside of the joint.
