good tank mates for clown fish

hey guys im planning to set up my first saltwater/reef tank and wanted to go with 2 or more clowns. my question is what are good tank mates for the clown fish? thanks in advance.

It depends what size tank youre planning on. Fosterandsmith has a good compatability chart

http://www.liveaquaria.com/general/c...lity_chart.cfm

Theyre compatable with most fish other than those that could eat them.

Also you might want to stick to two clowns per tank depending on the size and introduce them at the same time.

In my opinion A pair of clowns is best, especially In tanks less than 200-150 gallons.I wouldnt add more than. A pair because it usually turns out bad

u can run clowns with just about anything outside of large predators.

and x2, start with 2 only.

they should both be small and the same size. both will be male (all clowns start out as male). they will pare and one will become the dominate (dominance hierarchy) and change into the female (will grow larger). crazy stuff..thank goodness humans are not like this...well they might be for some couples!! haha
:D

when your tank matures (water is stable for months at a time etc) you can get a bubble tip anemone and the 2 clowns will host in it (more than likely). :D

clowns are one in handful of reef stock whose complete life cycle we can replicate in captivity. fun stuff. :D
