XR30W Gen 4 Pro minimum height above water

I'm getting ready to set up a 6' x 2' x 2' (180 gallon) SPS only tank. I have no doubt that the lights mentioned above are more than sufficient to support my tank, but what is the minimum height I can get away with placing these units above the water to get adequate spread? I'm trying to build a canopy that is as slim as possible for this tank. I'm intending to use 3 of these units.

Thanks for any help!!

Victor,

You will need to have your Radion at least 8 inches above the water's surface.

The higher you can put them the more even the par will be. I would set them at 10-12 inches if possible and slowly turn them up over a 6-8 week period with the max intensity around 70-80%. Start out around 30-40%.

If you can't do the 10-12 inches then 8 would be the lowest I would go but to reduce the hot spot in the middle of the fixture you should get the wide angle len's. Your par will drop a ton but just turning up the intensity will account for that. Shoot for you acro's if that it the type of tank you going for to receive 240-280 par after you acclimate them of course. Good luck. Hope this helps

One more thing. 3 lights will not work well on a six foot tank. I would get another one.
