How To Thin Out Button Polyps?

I have a cluster of button polyps(protopalythoa sp.)I need to thin out. What is the best way to do this? Thanks

Can you get underneath them and snip a piece of the rock off? This is how I do it.

Sundial snails. Eats zoanthids, palythoa, protopalythoa, all that good stuff. Good luck obtaining them however

I live on the westcoast of Florida and we find the Sundial snails in our Intercoastal Waterways on bridge pillars and such. There are also some starfish that are collected in the keys that will tear up some zoa/paly (unfortunately I made that mistake)
