[QUOTE=Rotknee;16631803]Nice job and congrats on the build. I really like the way the stand turned out. The spray bar is sweet too.

How did you plumb that drain line in the pic below? Any more pics? I just got my tank and I'm thinking about using some flex pvc but not exactly sure yet.

Again, congrats on your build. I hope mine comes out as nice.

Thanks but it didn't quite turn out that way. I thought the spraybar would be a good idea but it turned out that I had nowhere near enough pump to push enough water through it to make it effective. If I were going to use one, it would have to be a closed loop. I also got rid of the manifold and ran the returns over the back.

Also, I was not happy with the Durso drains (too many bubbles in my sump) so I bought another pump, ran the returns over the back and made Herbie drains. I like the configuration much better.

Here is a shot of the back of the tank from the left end. You can see the two returns coming out of the the back of the stand and going up the back of the tank. You can also see the drains going into the sump. There are two main drains that have ball valves to balance them to the return volume. There are no stand pipes in the overflow for the two main drains. That keeps them in perfectly clear water (no bubbles in the sump)

To keep the run as short as possible, the left emergency drain goes to the skimmer area of the sump and the other goes to the refugium. Only a little trickle of water goes through them.

Here is the right side of the stand showing the return pumps and the drains. The one with the ball valve is the main. It runs all the way to the other end of the sump and into the skimmer area. The other is the emergency and it goes straight into the fuge area.

Here is a shot from inside the right side of the stand. All the returns are about 1.5" under the water surface and run clear and silent.

Here is the return area of the sump. The sump goes

Skimmer/Drain > Return > Fuge

There is a Maxijet 1200 pushing water from the return area into the fuge with a u tube. The water flows out through a toothed divider from the fuge back to the return area.

Here is how the returns come into the display.

I really like this design better than the first. I have a Korralia 3 on the left side of the display and a 4 on the right for more flow in the tank. It has been running like this for a week.
