Vortech makes a quality pump. But two things I could not get use to was when the motor would rev up the whining sound. (I heard they are better now) and the Mickey Mouse ears with the cord hanging outside of the tank.
I have purchased many pumps over the years and I find the Tunze pumps fit my needs and will last forever if you take care of them...
