Get an egg-crate sheet from Home Depo and compartmentalize you HT. It only cost a few dollars.

I see why you suggest a divider. I wrapped my PH in a fine net but the heater is unprotected. She is not moving but I'll get the divider just in case.
I also see what you say about the heating element and the sensor being in the same enclosure but so far mine has been accurate.
I'll post some pics in a few minutes to get a feeling on how she is doing.
