I can vouch for the "lights" trick.
First thing in the morning, before the sun has come up, turn your lights on full blast and you can practically reach in with your hand and take out any fish you want.
As long as they are out of the rocks it's easy pickings!
And you have at least 5 minutes to find them. I have been surprised at how long they stay fairly disoriented.
