Its best to err on the side of caution. It may be fine initially but over time plus water spills... I would also bet the wood top is pine with either an oak or cherry stain and much of the rest an OSB. I don't think there is much at Target or any similar store that stands the test of time. I'd hate to see a future thread saying "Don't use this table!"
