That's a great looking cabinet and tank you have there. I think your plan is great especially since you have the extra cabinet space. Getting the water to and from the frag tank isn't a monumental task but would require a little thinking.
Do you have the frag tank already? Is it drilled or will it be drilled? Do you have a tee or manifold off your return?
