I just lay my Lagunas down. I have Fluvals as well, but they don't come in as many sizes and the SP6 is not as powerful as the larger Laguna pumps. They are both long lasting and super quiet.
I just went to the equipment room and a Fluval SP4 base fit perfectly on a 960 GPH Laguna. ...no idea if this applies to other pumps, but it might.
