BiopolTM reached close to a 100% degradation rate under these composting conditions. The aliphatic polyesters function like starch or cellulose to produce non-humic substances such as CO2 and methane. These aliphatic polymers are suited to applications with short usage and high degradation rate requirements (Gallagher, 2001).
