Removing silicone before making tank- how clean!

Im turning my 125 into a sump for my new 180, so removed 4 x 1/4 inch thick glass baffles from a diy 40b sump. I’m thinking I might use the glass panels to make a small 7.5 gallon mangrove tank to pretty up the basement sump fishroom. Cute little 17w x 8d x12h.

I’ve been scraping silicone off these things whenever I get 30 minutes free for 2 days . I’m down to a really thin film, not continuous, and was wondering if i should keep trying to get it all completely clean before attempting to make the tank?

Magic eraser and more elbow grease? Any tips?

Cheers
