i had a very similar problem, all i could find in a shallow box like that was single gang. I ended up cutting about 1/8" off the side of 2 boxes and glueing them together with pvc cement. It surprisingly worked out really well. I wish I had a picture to show you. I measured the distance between the mounting screws on a doubdle gang box, then measured to see how much i had to remove from the single boxes to make the distance between the mounting screws correct.
