emperor angel eats most of corals, but I have one in my SPS reef ... if you keep it well fed, it should only nip here and there, but since you are just getting into corals, it might not be something good.

I would also move the trigger.

start with testing the water parameters more often, what is the lighting ?

I would start with some easy corals, like softies, kenya tree coral and alike even zoas. when they start to grow u can look for more complicated ones like LPS corals. and eventuallt SPS . ....
