Aiptasia spread quickly in tanks with alot of flow, regardless if you see them in shady less flow area or directly in front of a pump. Aiptasia release spores into the water column and are spread throughout the system. I have 3 Tunze 6100 and a total tank turn over of 4x an hour. This has only proved to help aiptasia spread throughout the tank. If you want to eradicate them it takes alot of time and dedication. I do weekly assaults on the aiptasia with either joes juice or a mix of pickling lime mixed with boiling water ad shot directly into their mouths. Scrubing can work for the algae, but not for the aiptasia. they will just retract back into the rock. Unfortunately, you left them go too long without addressing the issue. Good luck from someone who is also fighting the good fight against aiptasia.....
