Wow... you really need to consider some of the not so obvious things involved before getting a business license and thinking you are going to save big.

Have you ever had a state tax audit? I have. I did pretty well but it was very time consuming. If you buy those bulbs, be sure to send the state the sales tax you owe on them. Business in most states that purchase items wholesale must pay the state sales tax on the item if the item is NOT resold.

I guess my point is that you are making it seem a lot easier than it is or worth, unless you are a legit business.

I would recommend sticking with buying through the normal channels and supporting your lfs unless you really are running a legit business and reporting and paying taxes correctly.

Please do not take my post a confrontational. I am only giving my thoughts based on experience.

I have been looking into this more and it really does not seem all that difficult and I think I have found a promising wholesaler (aquatic realm international) right on the "application" they ask what type of business and there are different places I could check online and retailer. they dont ask for much info. and Im guessing if I check the online sales only spot that the list of corals would be sub par.

The list of corals is going to be the same no matter what you check. Do post some pics of your first order if you go that route so that we can forward other people to them when they have the misconception that a wholesale account equals rare and cherry pieces... I echo what's been said already, support your local LFS and reef club and save your money.

Exactly +1

I live 20 minutes from Tropicorium, minutes from Cherrycorals.com, and within an hour of 5 other top notc local stores. I am lucky that i can pick pieces from here or there and only have to buy that one piece. Really, you cant beat that...
